Campaign from Erich and Kallman sees home champions easily overcome crippling power outages thanks to Goal Zero 3000X Solar Generator

Millions of California homeowners will face crippling power outages this summer due to a lack of power supply due to severe weather, drought and the threat of wildfires. In a new advertising campaign, Goal Zero, the leader in portable clean energy, is reminding consumers that when they are equipped with the right tools, they can keep their homes running when it matters most.
The statewide multi-channel campaign, “Power Villains,” aims to raise awareness of the Goal Zero range of home backup solar generators, and coincides with official warnings of summer blackouts due to California’s severe weather. Goal Zero offers clean home backup systems – including solar generators – that eliminate maintenance, fumes and noise.
Created by independent advertising agency Erich and Kallman, the campaign captures power stashes like blackouts and high winds as blackout villains with pure joy. In a series of TV commercials, these powerful villains are bought to life by unique voiceovers who enjoy the disruption they create – until the homeowner activates the Goal Zero Yeti 3000X power plant, stopping the villains in their tracks.
“The home backup energy market is on the rise, and our ecosystem of solar generators and full backup power systems has continued to evolve as consumer needs grow and natural weather conditions drive demand. We wanted an advertising campaign that conveyed the benefits and peace of mind,” said Trevor Lambert, Head of Marketing at Goal Zero. which comes with Goal Zero in a smart and friendly way that customers can relate to.” “More than just a campaign, Power Villains is also a larger platform that takes our brand in a new direction and will help us make creative progress in this category.”
The integrated campaign is disseminated across California’s local broadcast and cable television networks, digital television broadcasting, radio, social media, podcast, automated digital viewing and cinema advertising platforms.
“We wanted to put high winds and blackouts as evil characters to conquer, but in a lighter way that isn’t overly scary. Eric and Kalman, Creative Director and Co-Founder, Eric and Kalman said, “We are excited to be partnering with a brand that contributes to a clean solution to a pervasive environmental problem. ”
