Johnny Depp sells NFT and calls Lily-Rose Depp ‘cunning’

The actor has created artworks for people he knows that are described as “an intimate reflection of their personality in Johnny’s eyes; a depiction of how they reveal themselves to him”.

Last week, a jury of five men and two women ruled largely in favor of Johnny Depp as the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard ended.

The six-week high-profile trial was launched by an op-ed Amber wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, which called for more support for women survivors of domestic violence.

Although she did not mention Johnny by name, she did state that she became a “public figure” due to domestic violence two years ago, when she filed for divorce from the actor and obtained a temporary restraining order against him.

In a statement issued at the time, Amber alleged that Johnny had been “verbally and physically abusive” towards her throughout their relationship.

Johnny has denied abusing Amber, and filed a defamation suit against her in response to the publication of her op-ed.

The case went to trial in April of this year – two years after Johnny lost a defamation case against British tabloid The Sun when a judge ruled there was enough evidence to support them in calling him a “wife-beater” in an article.

This year’s defamation trial took place in Virginia, and thanks to state laws that allowed the court to be broadcast live online, it was followed closely by people around the world.

While Johnny’s fans crowded together across social media to throw their support behind him, some got nasty when they bombarded his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, with abusive messages on Instagram.

Aside from a post on her 23rd birthday on May 28, Lily-Rose was not active on her social media account throughout the trial. However, her past photos have been targeted with comments calling on her not to publicly support her father.

Last month, a now popular tweet posted a screenshot of some user-spotted comments on Lily-Rose’s Instagram page.

One of the messages reads “You spread your breasts more than your dad, what a wreck.” Another wrote: “No picture of your father! What kind of human are you!?” And in a second comment, the same account continued: “After years you will be gone and forgotten and people will only remember you as the daughter of a legendary man.”

Social media users shared their shock at the harassment Lily-Rose was facing, calling out online trolls. One tweet read: “You have no consideration that maybe this is all so hard for her, you feel like you deserve her time and energy. She’s sick.”

You’re all teasing her about a guy you’ve never met. Parasocial relationships are a disease. You have no idea that maybe all of this is hard for her, you feel that you are worth her time and energy. He’s sick https://t.co/mL22zOX094

And Johnny appears to have addressed the silence of Lily-Rose in a batch of photos from his NFT project Never Fear the Truth, which he launched in January.

Described as “the first public display of Johnny’s art,” Never Fear Truth focuses on the star’s “friends and heroes,” with the site adding: “The people he knew so well, and who inspired him as a person. Each image is an intimate reflection of their personality in Johnny’s eyes. A depiction of how they reveal themselves to him.”

Some of the famous names represented in the NFTs are River Phoenix, Heath Ledger and Elizabeth Taylor – as well as Lily-Rose.

There are hundreds of different gifs of his daughter, all shot from the same photograph before she was stripped to the back and “revitalized” with Johnny’s hand and the “reflections of one’s nature.”

“Silence, Exile, Cunning” is a paraphrase of the novel Portrait of the artist in his youthWritten by James Joyce, Johnny also has three words tattooed on his forearm.

Johnny shares Lily Rose with his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis. The pair are also mom and dad to 20-year-old Jack Depp, but Jack doesn’t appear in any of Johnny’s NFTs.

Speaking in a statement when he first released Don’t Fear the Truth earlier this year, Johnny said of his work: “I’ve always used art to express my feelings and think about the people who are most important to me, like my family, friends, friends and the people I admire.”

Purchasing Johnny’s NFTs gives his supporters access to a private Discord group, where fans can collaborate on creative projects. Donations are also made to charities chosen by Johnny.

“It is a great honor to be able to thank my fans and support the charities that have meant so much to my family. I hope we can form a new friendship group around these NFTs. Johnny added that my involvement in the NFT space is just getting started.

Although Lily Rose did not speak out in the latter case, she did defend Johnny when Amber’s allegations against him first came to light in 2016.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, she shared a throwback photo of the actor helping her to walk when she was still a baby, writing in the caption: “My dad is the sweetest person I know, he was nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him, we’ll say the same.” .

Amber and Johnny both mentioned the model at trial, with Amber claiming that Johnny would hide his drinking from his children during a 2013 trip to the Bahamas.

Amber alleged that he physically abused her while on a yacht, and she departed with Lily-Rose via helicopter shortly thereafter.

Meanwhile, Johnny claimed that Lily-Rose and Amber didn’t have a good relationship, which is why his daughter missed their 2015 wedding.
